For instance, if I want to snap to an end point, it's very slightly offset from the point. The ESnap function works for me, but it won't snap perfectly to a point.

I worked long time with ACAD 2008 and never had such a nasty problem. I'm currently using the free version of DraftSight 2017. Or doesn't catch exactly the point (for example a corner of rectangle) it just snaps a small distance away. It results with similar small mistakes like 10.0025 instead of 10. Whatever I work with new drawing or developing an old one - the AUTOCAD snap fails. Also, is it 2D or 3D work, is Elevation set to 0.0 for 2D work, and is UCS set to am having the same trouble with snap accuracy. Please give more information and post your drawing, a screenshot of your OSNAP settings and what icon is showing when you snap to the end of a line (Square, Triangle, X, etc.) so we may better assist you. Which of the many tips supplied in this post have you tried? There are lots of suggestions so saying OSNAP doesn't work isn't helpful because we don't know what your settings are. I think that the problem is the geometric center because moved the columns by its geometric center on the intersection between two axes than i realised that the columns are not in same line (direction). Accuracy is everything and selective use of OSNAPS can help with done that with axes, but i deleted them. There are more errors in your linework that are probably due to snapping such as the corner below. Below is a snip of the lines in one of the columns (exploded to get each line length). This may help eliminate some of the errors in accuracy.Īlso, your columns aren't exactly horizontal/vertical so using PERP for your dimensions isn't accurately dimensioning the column. Instead of doing polylines for your columns I would recommend a dynamic block or multiple blocks that have a point on a no plot layer at a center insertion point that can be snapped to. If you must have a lot of OSNAPS on I recommend turning off NEAREST since it can cause the most inaccuracies. The red dimensions are snapped to geometric center. The white dimensions in the snip below are to a midpoint from corner to corner in a few of the columns.
